IC3 (Internet and Computing Core Certification)

Internet and Computing Core Certification is a programme developed to validate a persons skills in the basic use of computers and the internet. IC3 is a good qualification for anyone looking to gain and validate their computer skills at a basic level, it is also a good qualification to gain in order to progress to higher level IT qualifications.

IC3 is made up of 3 units and candidates must take and successfully pass all 3 in order to gain the qualification. The 3 units of IC3 are listed below.

  1. IC3 - Computing Fundamentals - This module covers computer hardware, Computer Software and using an operating System.
  2. IC3 - Key Applications - This module covers common programme functions, word processing functions and spreadsheet functions.
  3. IC3 - Living Online - This module covers networks and the Internet, electronic mail and using the Internet.
